The Harvard Solar Geoengineering Research Program is the world’s largest SRM research group and it runs a rolling programme of short term research residencies for leading researchers.
- Dr Heri Kuswanto (Indonesia)
- Dr Frederic Bonou (Benin)
- Prof. Ines Camilloni (Argentina)
- Dr Feisal Rahman (Bangladesh).
Over the two weeks of the residency they attended talks and discussions on a wide range of topics, from the controversies of outdoors experimentation, to NGO responses to SRM, to engineering challenges of getting aerosols to the stratosphere. They were also able to present their research and sharpen their modelling plans, and the residency even provided a chance for Fred to download several terabytes of SRM modelling data that he’d not been able to get in Benin.
Many thanks to Lizzie Burns, Amy Chang and David Keith, plus the whole Harvard research team, for providing this great opportunity to the DECIMALS researchers.
